Black & White or Sepia options at checkout

I have a request from a customer overseas and would like to have the ability to purchase photos in black & white or sepia tone. I know I could simply convert them myself through a batch converter and upload or use the photo tools menu as admin, but it would be much more convenient and save me alot of time to have the options already to have them available to order in this format by the customer, having a preview before they go through with the transaction.

I am sure this has been brought up somewhere on this forum...this is a must feature for those that have a Pro account.

I'd be interested to see how many pros are interested in auto b&w or sepia (eek7.gif) conversions to all their hard work. From what I've seen on dgrin, most people seem to think that if smugmug nudges one pixel one tiny little value off of what they worked so hard to get, then baldy and onethumb should pack up their servers and go out of business.

At any rate, you may want to consider putting this in the feature requests thread. thumb.gif

Actually - it's not. Stick with me here: Pro is as pro does. Sure, we can make an auto BW routine - but it'll never ever be as good as what you can do on your own. Must have? No - nice to have for certain shots? Yes - and we're looking into it.

After thinking about it more...I would agree it's not a must have...actually this is the first request to do this from my site. History always shows that I'll probably get more. Most people I deal with would expect this considering they can get the same from a kiosk in a store like Walmart or CVS as well as online with them too. I will just batch convert and upload to it's own gallery until this is possible here. Thanks.

It sure would be nice for me. It would cut in half my # of images stored and have to upload at events. I currently do both color and black & white. In the last year that would have saved me from uploading about 60,000 images.
"A photo is like a hamburger. You can get one from McDonalds for $1, one from Chili's for $5, or one from Ruth's Chris for $15. You usually get what you pay for, but don't expect a Ruth's Chris burger at a McDonalds price, if you want that, go cook it yourself." - me
