Just took ownership of a 17-40mm f/4L and loving every bit of it! I've been wanting a wide for a while, hemming and hawing if I should go for something wider, something off brand and cheaper, and now I'm sure I made the right choice. Its sharp as I'll ever need, even wide open, gets great color and contrast. And while I don't care much for its barrel distortions (PT Lens to the rescue!) I really enjoy its reality-warping wideness. Here's some test shots from the track on sunday:
