Still no such thing as a free lunch -unless you're a crab spider...

All Canon gear: Xti (manual mode F10, 1/200, ISO 100) + 1.4 teleconverter + 25mm extension tube + 100mm macro lens. MR-14EX ring flash set to a 4:1 ratio and -1/3 FEC.

    Thats interesting John, the Crab Spider has turned the fly around choosing to eat it head first eek7.gif

    They spin their prey around a lot, but they seem to want to feed by biting the back of the neck. My guess is that the spider injects digestive enzymes from multiple points to speed up the breakdown of the soft tissue in the victim.

    The gear just helps me get a lot of magnification without forcing me to get really close.
