O.k., I posted this in the people forum and got some good feedback. Owen and Lynne mentioned that the lighting was flat.

Camera set in AV @ ISO200 for 1/250sec. The lighting was with diffused light through the shades, a 300W halogen in the corner, and my 580EX (high-speed synced, ETTL, 0EV) bounced off the walls behind me.

I know the background is very distracting, but I am more concerned with how to better the lighting for an impromptu setting. I had no time to make the room ideal for this. Plus, I actually do not own any reflectors, umbrellas, etc. to use for controlling the light.

Any ideas what I should do with the camera, flash to better the lighting on shots like this?

Open up the shade behind her, move ofer to the left and use some of the natural light from the window?

A man can do as he wills, but not will as he wills.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not the replacement of it.:scratch
