Americana: July 4th

Summer is on the way and July 4th is a kind of ritual for us. We always spend it in Hartland VT, a small town where my wife grew up. There's a distinctly Normal Rockwell feel to its July 4th celebrations. You can see the whole gallery of photos from July 4th at www.grokphoto.com.

    Nice shot! I think if you saw more of the car - or at least the windshield - it might be stronger.

    I think you'd also get more of a nostalgic feel to it if you tried a *slight* sepia.

    I really like this image alot! You are so right about the Norman Rockwell feel to the town. It is very apparent....sings of Americana!!! When I look at them they remind me of my childhood and growing up.......when times were simpler. thumb.gif

    Its a cool picture, but there are way too many distracting elements in the background; namely, the people wearing the blown-out white shirts. Although, it is a nice composition overall =).
