Nice compositions. :D The second one looks perhaps a tad underexposed.
I see the world through a 3:2 rectangle.

Those rocks sure are a wild color.

BTW - you need to enable external links in your gallery settings. Can't see them linked in the post.

Nice shots, neighbor. Love the second one the best.

Does the place where you took these photos have a name?

    Cheers,

    Hey Joel--

    "Beaver Creek, AZ" rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

Beaver Creek is East of the 17 across from Sedona and feeds down into Camp Verde and the Verde River. Exits for Montezuma's Well or Castle will both get you down towards the creek.

Easy stop before or after the Wildlife Park. thumb.gif

Nice location. I was just in the area today (well yesterday now). I wish this had been posted earlier. Was looking for something to so while "stranded" in Flagstaff waiting for our car to be repaired. We rented a car and hit the Grand Canyon on Monday and Montezuma's Castle and Sedona (honeymoon location 15 years ago) on Tuesday. Still as nice as I remember it. Need to actually plan a trip to the area again soon.

Post a thread before you come out and maybe some of us locals can give you some ideas or plan a meet up.

    Shane-

Is this Beaver Creek or further North and East in Wet Beaver Creek? Your background looks very lush compared to the high desert/sagebrush of the Verde Valley area.

Makes me miss that area - I grew up in Chino Valley just the other side of Mingus Mtn and North of Prescott. Might have to plan a stop along the creek on my Antelope Canyon trip in June!

Thanks for posting these great shots!

    Hey Aaron

Wet Beaver creek is one of my favorite places, lots of little water falls like those I posted. Very popular place, it is a hot retreat for Flagstaff folks wanting a repreave from blustery coldness on the mountain top.

Here is the thing, Wet Beaver creek has some great deep swim holes and high cliffs about 3 miles from the trail head, on any given sunny day you will find upwards of 50-70 people there (good for swimming, not for photography).

This fact works your favour if you are into photography, there are literally dozens of gorgeous spots along the creek, take any of the little obscure trails that peel off the main trail and you will find great things to photograph.

The spot in my photos...I have been going there for years and never seen more than 5 people there at any one time, 8-10 times I have the place to my self.

    Thanks for all your comments.
