Other than the background blur and the car theme, I don't see the two shots having a lot in common. headscratch.gif

    What effect are referring to?

This shot has something in common with the second of your links. Is this what you meant?

Large aperture ..gives you a more narrow depth of field in the photo. Also has a lot to do with the distance the object is behind the main object.

I am referring to the post processing effect. It has a slide look to it.

I think we're all looking at different photographs.

Each time I hit the links you and I posted, a different image appears. So we're not looking at and talking about the same thing, I'm afraid. lol3.gif

yeah...im thinking that there isnt a lot of the 'slide look' in what im seeing. Maybe the site has a slideshow thing happening thus a new image each time.

Oooohhhhh, I get it. 11doh.gif Gus, your post made me realize what cfrey6 is on about.

Are you talking about the film strip look to the thumbnails at the bottom of the page?

Geez, we prolly have a tutorial ourselves. But I reckon a Google search for filmstrip and Photoshop will yield results.

Here is the link which will show the effect of a slide film look I am looking to try and learn how to post process. Most of his images have that look.

Ok..from what i see this person is quite talented...i would guess there is a lot more post processing to each shot than most would expect. They are processing at a very high level. Lots to wonder about. Things like LAB curves..sharpening..RAW temperature settings..vignetting etc etc.

They also know how to frame a shot which whilst it may not sound a lot..it has a lot more to do with a final photo than many think.

Have a look into this thread.

What editing software & gear are you mainly using ?
