This is a sex thread!
When I got home Friday evening after work, a storm was rolling in and the birds were apparently very agitated, excited. I'm not sure. I grabbed my camera hoping to catch one of the many swallows that are now in the area perching or at least flying by so I could get a BIF. No such luck. However, the killdeer were up to something. The coloring is a bit odd (a lot of green), but I had to up the ISO and mess with the levels since it was getting rather dark with the oncoming storm.
No big deal here. Just a nice shot head-on.
But another one arrives....
They both start calling in that typical killdeer screech.
Then they get closer.
The male must have whispered some sweet-nothings in the ear of the female because in a split second, this happened. :jawdrop
The male's dismount leaves a lot to be desired. :rofl
Heck, I think these two bluejays were being a bit amorous as well. Look at the way they are looking at each other.
I even saw my first hummingbirds of the year yesterday. It was a pair of black-chinned hummingbirds. They wouldn't let me take a picture of them both, but I was able to get one to perch. That is for another thread though. :ivar

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Glenn. I was actually lying on the ground prostrate when I shot most of these.

That is too bad. I need to finance a 500mm prime.

Thanks Harry. It was an unexpected capture there at the end.
