Just three quick ones to comment on , taken at Satrdays wedding with the 18-200VR lens , I know , I'm in the process of getting a 17-50 f2.8 ...
She was quite a bit taller than him so I had to position them accordingly ...

The last two are cool for different reasons. Love the multiple exposure effect of the next to last. Nice. I'll have to try that!

The B&W with the rainbow. How cool is that? How often would one have the opportunity to get a shot like that?

All the shots are nice. The use of the WA in the group shot (#3) is very interesting as well.

Wow- I've never yet had to deal with the issue of the bride being quite a bit taller! Thanks for sharing- now I'll have some creative ideas on posing! :) Also- I just thought you might want to do a little PSing on #2. I'd get rid of the guy on the upper right in the background. Even blurry it looks like he's relieving himself or doing something else very inappropriate for a wedding pictures!!! :) Can't seem to keep from noticing him every time I look at it! :)ne_nau.gif

I had mixed thoughts on the guy in the background . A mate asked if I was going to ps him out but in the previous pictures he was standing with a fishing rod so I allowed that to influence my thinking since I am presenting them in a sequence . But for the prospect of making a single print I may just have to "delete " the guy .

I think the last one is cool, but two and three have too cluttered backgrounds, one is a nice concept shot though =).

And P.S. Does sigma really make a 10-20 f/4? I have to get my hands on that lens :P.

Really interesting shots....what a challenge! You did well in 'positioning' them on the beach. She is so tall that the first shot truly does not hide the fact, but it would have looked ridiculous if they had swapped places! Because she is so tall, the 3rd shot would have been fun to do a shot of her picking him up as well! I assume they probably both have a great sense of humor! How cool is it to have a rainbow (or did you PS it in?) I would have positioned them so the rubbish on the left was not included in the shot. Other than that great job!!!

did the bride ask you to hide the fact that she is taller than her groom? just curious.

Two weeks before I went around and looked at the locations they had chosen and took a few test shots , the groom mentioned himself maybe standing on tree roots etc. to look taller and they both had a good sense of humour . With a shot like them walking on the beach I just asked him to walk on her left , I never mentioned anything about height though I'm pretty sure by that time they both knew the exact reason ...
The rainbow was real all right , they had just finished getting ready and I saw it and told them to get their butts outside in a hurry ! The groom really liked the concept of this shot !wings.gif

The Sigma 10-20 makes for some interesting shots . Comparing prices in NZ$ it is $705 on www.zillion.co.nz and the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 is $680 while the 18-200VR is $1299 which should give you an idea of it's approximate cost . This shot was taken at 10mm ...

This is TOO cute!!! What a great concept shot.

I was just curious if they had pointed it out or not. Good for you to pick up on that, it sounds like they had a sense of humor about it! I have gotten into the habit of asking brides what they're most self-conscious about themselves in pictures, the last thing I want to do is "correct" something they're not ashamed of. :D

Yeah, that's a great tip. The height thing isn't a big deal for a lot of folks so it's usually good to get that out in the open right away. I shot a female model yesterday who is 5'11"-- very long limbed. In heels, she was easily over six feet. I had her posed in a chair at one point and she described it as "A preying mantis sitting in a chair." :D
