Harry said there are two kinds of people in this world: those who love birds and those who don't know it yet...since I got my Panasonic FZ-50 and its compact, looooong lens, I've shot almost 300 pics of birds...it really is addictive.

My office overlooks a lake that was drained temporarily for road construction. I turned around one day and saw a bird soaring over the pools of water left over. It looked familiar, like I had seen it on a coin or dollar bill :D. I grabbed my camera off my desk (like any photog geek, I carry my camera almost everywhere) and started pressing the shutter button as fast as possible.

The window I look through has IR coating plus its kind of dirty with crud. The pic was through a film of white and brown crud so it did not come out crystal clear so I make it kind of 800ASA film looking. Of the set, this one is my favorite. I am soooo thrilled to catch a Bald Eagle in the wild.

    Harry's always right :ivar

Great capture considering the shooting conditions. There's no thrill like getting an eagle capture and you got an action shot. clap.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Congrats on your first capture of an eagle. I experienced that this year too, and sure wished for a longer lens! Mine were pretty far away also. But I love the memories I created.

The first of many, I hope!thumb.gif
