Our campus shop has a 20" cinema display (the previous generation) demo unit they are selling for $799. Is this a good deal??? I have no idea, not quite in my range anyway, but I'm always too curious.

BTW, it's perfect, ran pixel checker. And it comes with a 1 year extended warranty from date of purchase, through Apple.

let me reiterate the question... seems like this is a good deal for this monitor, but seeing as how its old generation Mac stuff (still an AMAZING monitor), is there anything better? I'm seeing lots of 20" Dell and Viewsonic LCD's going for $500. I don't know much about monitors. teach me wise ones.

Personally I think it's a great deal. My brother has that monitor and it looks sweet.

Great deal, who cares about ribbed plastic vs. aluminum.

I'd grab it if I were you! $500 savings over the price a few months ago, $200 savings on the aluminum/pedestal model.
