SOLD: Canon 400 5.6L

It kills me to have to do this, but I need to sacrifice my favorite lens in order to move up to the 300 2.8.

This lens is LN-, small scuff on tripod ring, glass is pristine and the lens has been babied since I bought it. Date code UTxxxx. Comes with everything it normally would if purchased new.

Taken with 1DII and canon 1.4x tele --about a 50% crop

1DII and Canon 1.4 wide open

1DII

30D with ceapo tamron 1.4x

1DII

1DII with canon tele 1.4x

1dII with canon 1.4x heavy crop

350d and cheapo tamron 1.4

I get some pics up of the lens later, but you'd be hard pressed to tell it from new. This is a sharp copy that performs well with a canon 1.4x (on a 1d body) and the cheapo tamron 1.4x on my 30d.

My price is $945 shipped. Paypal is fine, but add 3%. I have good feedback both here and on FM.

I usually dont pipe into people selling threads but i have to here.

This is a totally amazing lens...it focuses like lightning & is as sharp fully open as it is closed down. I put it on & walk about with it for a view you dont normally get to shoot with a carry around lens.

Dont miss it guys.

Oh, I know. One of Canon's best-ever hunk o glass.

I had gluwater's 400 5.6 on my 20D for only 30 seconds a year ago, and that's all it took to be convinced.

I'm sure you may be right...maybe after not having it for a bit I'll realize what I was missing...but right now I can't afford to keep both.

As for the lens, it is not yet sold but it is on hold for a day or so to see if a local deal can be worked out with Dgrinner in the area. I'll update the ad PRN.
