Just curious if Plug-In's and Actions I use with CS2 will work in CS3? :scratch
Haven't seen any discussion about this.
Has anyone experimented with this yet? :dunno

My CS2 actions can be loaded into the CS3 beta. However, it always depends on whether your action uses a feature they changed, because if they did then the action might not work the same way or might stop in the middle if it can't continue. You could be in for some testing and debugging.

I don't use a lot of plug-ins but if you were using a CS2 Mac plug-in and you now have an Intel Mac I think you need Intel-native updates of plug-ins for the ones that don't come with Photoshop.

I don't know whether there is a significant change in the Windows world re: PS plug ins.

But as Colourbox has suggested PSCS2 was coded for the PowerPC chip MACs, while PSCS3 is universal binary and suitable for both PowerPCs and Intel chips so some plug ins in the MAC world may need to be updated. I suspect this may vary for each plug in, depending on whether is just runs an action in PS or depends on the processor in some way.

Save your actions as a file, then load the actions in CS3. Works fine.

If you have a non-universal binary plug-in you want to run in CS3 on an Intel machine, you should be able to: get info on CS3, change the settings to run under rosetta, and the plug-in should work fine. You'll take a speed hit, but you'll have your plug-in!

I agree. I don't know about Macs, but I loaded my actions into CS3 last night on a PC and they seem to work just fine. The steps are the same as the CS to CS2 upgrade-- save the CS2 actions, then load them into the CS3 actions.

Should be identical on the Mac.

I'm on a Macbook Pro...not sure about the plug-ins, but the actions I just highlighted in CS2, saved as another file, then loaded from that file in CS3. I need to add my Noise Ninja so when I do, I'll get back to you...I've only had CS3 for a few days now.
