Trouble setting pricing

Hello...I just signed up for the 14 day "Pro" trial with every intention to pull the trigger when the 14 days is up. It is time to take my hobby to the next level now that I have several paying customers.

I am trying to (slowly) setup my SmugMug site. I have uploaded a gallery of an event I shot in December and the client is now ready to order some of the 500 plus pictures I shot. I followed Andy's Fast Start for Pro's and set Gallery pricing for the single gallery. I want to offer the customer 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10 prints as well as some different photo gifts like cups, tshirts and puzzles.

After setting pricing for the sizes and items I want to offer I checked the gallery and added a few things tot he cart and found only 4x6's as well as wallet sized photos. Not sure what I did wrong. I selcted "apply this pricing' to "filled" in the drop down menu. All the items I did not want were then unhighlighted and I clicked apply and save. :dunno

    wave.gif welcome

    1) be sure that all your photos meet the minimum resolution requirements, here:
    http://www.smugmug.com/help/print-quality#minprintres

    2) be sure you put $0 in for all items you DO NOT want priced.

    More help,and a video, here:

Holler if you have more questions :)

Well...that explains it...I had created a folder where I resized all images to 800 x 600 when I uploaded to MPIX to order a proof book. Now I need to nuke my upload and reupload the original sized JPEG's. I hope I still have them or I might have to go back to my RAW's eek7.gif

I'm in the same situation. Thanks to Andy & Barb, my site is up & I'm working on 2 galleries (outdoorimages.smugmug.com) . I'm trying to get started w/ pricing from the 1st step. 2 concerns- what to do if certain images in a gallery might be best offered only in smaller sizes and I read something confusing here somewhere about making sure you don't accidentally sell at cost?? Any advice, insight will be appreciated, gordonc.

Don't forget to use Proof Delay, and you can smash your files :)

Read and watch the video on the help page... linked above...

Then, do as we say. Set portfolio pricing. For images that you want to exclude certain items/sizes, just set the image pricing to $0 :)
