This contest has put me into a constant state of awareness, always looking for a possible image that is just sitting right in front of me.

I drove by this scene and it clicked...

"compost"

The title is a contradiction in terms but a statement about our so called organic (green) lifestyle.

It's a cool snapshot for sure, but I'm not sure it's great for an entry. It's very busy, and there is not one part that standas out. ne_nau.gif

I think you can do better =c)

    I'm also wondering
how this would fit the theme of organic or artificial? Without explanation the subject matter doesn't jump out and smack me up side the head (something I need often these days it seems rolleyes1.gif). The theme should be self explanatory from the photo but MOST IMPORTANTLY.....is it a wall hanger shot? Ah, combining those two elements in one frame is the real challenge but that's why the last photographer standing will accomplish just that!

    Me too!

Thanks for your thoughts. A good portion of the time I can tell if something is not quite right and in this case I instinctively knew all that has been said but I thought.. hey why not see if I was wrong....

    much appreciated.

In general, very few broad daylight shots make it to the top ten/winners. Unobstructed midday sun is the source of harshest light known to men, and is usually biggest snapshot tell-tell sign..ne_nau.gif

Composition also does not work for me rolleyes1.gif
I know you can do better :-) thumb.gif
