Just a Little Blue from Florida.

And a Purple . . . I don't remember the last part of the name, let alone how to spell it:scratch , but a pretty bird none-the-less.145631595-M.jpg
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

The first is a tri-color heron and the second is a purple gallinule. Both shots would have been helped if you could have shot it from a lower perspective. Good capture anyhow. thumb.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

With birds and wild life you take whats offered, but within those confines one can still move around for better perspective, light and background. Harry is right, and I would also add that a less complicated background would enhance your subject, and improve the overall composition. Shooting in morning or afternoon light, rather than bright overhead sunhine would also help for more dramatic images. These are very nice images, but maybe just a tad over exposed. thumb.gifthumb.gif

Thanks for the correction! I guess I know what I'll be asking for for Mother's Day (a bird i.d. book). Also, thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it next time.:D

I appreciate the ideas and comments. I'll just have to go out and practice more. Does practice make perfect or does it make an addiction in the case of photography? We'll just have to see:photo Thanks again

You should have been forwarned!! Once a camera gets in your hands, it is like a potato chip, you cannot "take just one G." You are on track - asking for comments/suggestions is always a good idea. All of us stumbled at first and are always looking for that PERFECT shot thumb.gif
