    I don't get it?
I like the image... creative, but how does it relate to the theme?

Very cool shot. Reminds me of the "Red Dye No. 40" controversy. Definitely fits the artificial theme.

love the interpretation. definitely fits. the composition works for me.

    but it needs some work...

i think you could do a better job of controlling highlights, and making the glass stand out a bit from the bg. my eyes are also trying to find something in focus? maybe its me.

I see what you are saying. Believe it or not, but I have to get a plain glass like this (Walmart, here I come). This one has a blue tint which I was trying to get rid off and have missed some critical element.

Will try again and repost. Will see. THanx for the comments so far.

THis is artificial color for foods, btw.

I think this one brings across the idea of artificial color much better. The red alone didn't do it for me. But once you tossed in that yellow/orange color, you nailed it! thumb.gif

15524779-Ti.gif I think the reshoot is superior, in every way. Nice work!

ETA: i know you didn't ask, but the title (in the entry thread) could be stronger...perhaps something simplistic like "Red Dye #40" or something like PaulthomasMcKee referenced. Just a random thought!

wow..thanx. The second shot was just something that I was playing around with until I got a clear glass. Guess Walmart lost a sale! rolleyes1.gif

I will change the title. I am gonna try one more shot to see if the red dye can come in the middle. Otherwise, will use this.

    Appreciate all the feedback.

I think the shot is cool, it just doesn't speak the theme to me. ne_nau.gif

ok..so I did another shoot(Shoot 3). I wasn't happy that the red dye wasn't falling in the center.

Now it has..after sooo many tries.

Sorry to do this, which do you prefer if any?

Title: Simply Red Dye! (what do you think of the title now?

    Great!
This third one is the best of the three, why?

the contrast and focus are both much much better.

The very top left of the glass is a teeny bit washed out, any way to fix that by using a copy of the right side maybe?
