Sunrise in the English countryside

We had an "early morning dawn challenge" just for fun over on another forum. I took these down the road from where I live to explore how different things look at dawn.

I was using a 350D with a 17-55 and a 70-200 f4, and a totally excellent Giottos carbon tripod I just bought.

This is probably the most enjoyable time I've had taking pictures (apart from getting up at 5am). Watching the light change and the effect it had on how everything around me looked was enlightening (!). I now understand why people rave about light at dawn. I'll be doing some more of this I think.

Anyway, here's 4. C&C most welcome.

#2 canal and an old house

#3 sleeping narrowboats

You actually made me consider getting up that early...

Yes dawn is worth it especially when the fog bends the light. Your first and last images are very well composed.

Considering that cows are notorious for framing (dang things move too much!) I would have to agree. Great frame. Thanks for sharing tobers thumb.gif

Thanks for the comments. I got chased by the cows and had to jump a fence to get away. I think they were just curious but I wasn't hanging about to find out.

Great captures! I really enjoy #1 and #4. What an amazing place to visit and shoot.

All I can see down the road from my house is rows and rows of more houses. ne_nau.gif lol. O well.
