We had an "early morning dawn challenge" just for fun over on another forum. I took these down the road from where I live to explore how different things look at dawn.
I was using a 350D with a 17-55 and a 70-200 f4, and a totally excellent Giottos carbon tripod I just bought.
This is probably the most enjoyable time I've had taking pictures (apart from getting up at 5am). Watching the light change and the effect it had on how everything around me looked was enlightening (!). I now understand why people rave about light at dawn. I'll be doing some more of this I think.
Anyway, here's 4. C&C most welcome.
#1 cows having breakfast
#2 canal and an old house
#3 sleeping narrowboats
#4 old ruin
Cheers

You actually made me consider getting up that early...

Yes dawn is worth it especially when the fog bends the light. Your first and last images are very well composed.
