Shooting with the Doc

I met up with Jeff at a GBH Rookery and got some good shots. The area looks very promising, we saw from GHO's to Coyote to Wilsons Snipe. Here's a couple I snapped off before Jeff arrived.

I can't tell what it was but momma brought home the bacon.

Yes I know, I clipped the wings :cry.

And shortly after Jeff arrived this Coyote showed up. He walked straight towards up without giving a second glance. Then he heard our shutters firing away and headed for the hills.

Thanks Jeff, it was fun shooting with you again. I'm going to try and make it out there again soon because I think the owlet is going to fledge within the next week.

It was really nice to finally find an owl. This was the first time I've been able to shoot one in the wild.

Well it's no St Augustine but there are about a dozen active GBH nests and the bonus nest, the GHO. I'll definitely be returning soon.

Thanks for looking. I am definitely not a morning person. Usualy the only way I make it out for sunrise is if I haven't gone to sleep yet. That was the case here. But the color makes it all worth while.

Thanks Dave, the light didn't last long and it kills my shutter speed but it sure is pretty.

Good set, Nick. I wanted to join you two, but it was a rough weekend. Next time. Next time. Now that my camera has enhanced vision, I need to begin practicing some wildlife shooting skills to justify the new acquisition.
