If you can keep your gear on you at all times or in a safe if not on you. Is anyone else alarmed at the amount of stolen gear we have had lately. My gear is on me all the time and I don't think I'm going to change that policy now.

    Exactly. And... if you've ever filed a theft claim with insurance company, you'll quickly learn that they can drop you after paying your claim! If they don't drop you, at the very least, they'll raise your premiums. There are also very often all kinds of exemptions for theft-- for example my current policy does not cover items stolen out of cars.
