Is there such a thing as a white Canada goose? Or is this an anomaly?
BTW, these two appear to be a couple. Oh boy! hopefully her dad is also pro integration, or else: :gun2 :duel
Shame and Scandal in the family :D

    I think Skippy has it.

I just watched Planet Earth on the Discovery channel, the other day, and they showed the migration of the Snow Geese.

If I recall correctly, they winter in New Mexico and fly to the Arctic for nesting in the summer. Tens of thousands of them, that is!

it does not have snow goose markings ne_nau.gifheadscratch.gif it lacks the black wing tips and the upper wing markings [Russ's shot shows very well ]are very close so my best shot at it would be it is a morph rolleyes1.gif Russ did you not hear them talking eek7.gif that would also help with id

I agree that it is missing snow goose markings. There have been recent reports of hybirdization between goose species, and the result has been much lighter Canada Geese. Perhaps this is the extreme? I think you should report it - maybe they will name a subspecies for you!!!!mwink.gif

It is a domestic goose. See http://www.birds.cornell.edu/crows/domgeese.htm for more info.

Here's a different pose from the "blond goose"
I'm still a bit confused as to what she really is.
    She's not a snow goose
She seems much larger than the Domestic goose (she's and the Canada goose are quite similar in size)
    Any other suggestions?

    Russ,

The goose very much has the Snow Goose head and I would go with the hybrid. SG pass though here and there is now a hybrid at Dawes Arboretum, not as extreme as this one but the head is exactly the same.
    Nice shots

    Possibly an Embden Goose?
