    Cool!
I have no idea what it is but it sure is cool. I can't decide if I like the shallow DOF but it does serve to isolate attention on the bottom. I love the reflection in the water drop. You've done a good job with the lighting ... very dramatic.

Bob, this is an old curling tendril from a vine. It is essentially covered in H2O and then there is a drop of H2O at the bottom. The drop is refracting the curly part of the tendril. It was shot with the the MP-65E macro lens @ 1x to 1.5x. with the MR-14EX ringlight. (Note to self: I really should start writing down the magnification settings on the lens).

Hope that helps and thanks for the comments.

    Brilliant capture clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif

Brian, thanks for the comment. I am really going to have rig up something akin to your lighting as the ringlight produces too many bright spots. So many of the same drop had half-rings in the bubble that just looked terrible.

Actually if theres any way you can pp out the flash reflection this would be perfect. The flash ring gives the water more character as opposed to the non flash.

One of the reasons I'm not keen on ringlights, that and the near impossibility of diffusing the light.

Thanks, I am still trying to get better at the DOF and getting what I want to be in focus.
