just got a sweet deal on a Nikon 300 f4. used, but excellent condition. drove down to the nest the other day after work. in my eagerness, I screwed up. one, I forgot my 1.4 converter. two, when I went to turn the ISO from 400 down to 200, I mistakingly turned it up to 800. :dunno :rolleyes

anyway, the test proved what I wanted to know the most. that this is one sharp lens! I had some 8x12s printed. in spite of the iso 800, they look great. can'r wait to see what they'll look like at iso 200. heres a few;

    I think you did very well considering the distance and the crop. Apply a little Noise Ninja and your pics will look even better. thumb.gif

    Thanks. while I'm sure I'll love this lens, I don't see it replacing my 80-200 2.8 as my favorite. :D

    Congrats on the 300mm F/4. Its one of my favorite lenses, just a fine piece of glass. Excellent shots also, the crops hold up very well.

    How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
