I know there is an old thread somewhere with some home spun ideas for photography equipment , but I can't seem to find it.
I started using a built in CF card reader to download images because of the speed advantage over the usb wire. One problem, sometimes I left the CF card in the reader and went out for some shooting with an empty CF slot.
Solution: Homemade CF card holder that attaches to the camera strap. Now I "Never leave home without one".
This particular style of pouch came with one of my past CF card purchases. It has a webbing in the back that can be modified by cutting the stitching on the bottom edge. The webbing can then be placed around the camera strap (must remove one side of the stap from the camera first). This allows for a handy place to store 1 or 2 CF cards. I leave one CF card in this all of the time. Works great and can save your *SS is you forget to put the CF card back in the camera.
