Coconut shell?

Don't know what it calls but it is something like a shell where small coconut grows on a tree,after sometime the shell looks like this.

    complete shell is somewhat like this,the one which is behind like a cover to small coconuts has a great texture finish when it dries up and posted just above this message.

    This may help you,remember this is a dead bunch of coconuts which never grew in a full size and died(!)prematurely!This is life so enjoy it till it lasts as one never know when our switch will "Trip":ivar

    In palms, this sheath is called a "spathe." Google coconut and spathe and you will see that many different cultures have traditional uses for this spathe.
