This one kinda sucks....but at least it proves I'm still out there! I can't get within a hundred yards of the nest before she books. I guess, I really should stay away. Any idea how long before the kids arrive?

Nice shot! Red Tailed hawks are notoriously skittish. I have found a nest as well but can't get near it. I have no idea about the youngins. Just wait and see. It can't be too long now.

Ric, get yourself a Hawk suite and wings, fly near the nest for about a week, then each time get closer and closer, let bird get to know you, and WHAM! You've go the shot of a lifetime.
Try it then let us know how it worked out.... rolleyes1.gif

Good capture Ric. It would be easier to approach the nest with a Nikon. Its a known fact that raptors are much more at ease when there aren't any white lenses around. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice pic even if it is a tad far. You have something to watch.
About 32 day of the incubation of the eggs
