    Randy,
I am always impressed with how well you use your equipment. Your shots are so sharp, great dymanic range, capturing both action and the personal effort by the players in the sports you shoot. Its always great to see your posts when they come up.

    thx Mike
I spend most of time now on composition since the camera has become a very familiar tool from so much use

    Hi Randy,

Just to pick your brain, do you use a very fast shutter with the lens wide open for most of your shots on a sunny day like you had?
Really love the up close shots, r you cropping heavily?

    Thanks
    Herb

    no to both questions

i prefer to shoot in Aperture mode and take any ss > 1/640
i rarely shoot wide open especially in very bright light since that requires me to set ev to a negative value to underexpose so i don't blow highlites. Underexposing results in loss of facial detail and larger apertures results in AF issues...on a f2.8 lens f4 seems to be the sweet spot (best contrast, detail and IQ in general)
