Dear friends!
These days we say goodbye to Mstislav Rostropovich worldknown violoncellist, conductor, musician.
Oh, what a man he was!
Want to share with you some photos I've made...
1 Famous people are always surrounded with a lot of other people... Some of them are photographers
2 Maybe some of you will recognize my two 'models' here?

Thank you for your tribute!
He was a truly great man... :cry
May he rest in peace!
I don't suppose you have pictures of Kirill Lavrov?
The article calls him a 'legendary cellist and conductor'.
You seem to have more photos of musicians, Yuri. Is there a reason? Or just coincidence? Are you a musician as well?

Spasibo, Ivar!
I play guitar, 25 y.ago played in the rock band :-)
As for Mstislav - he was a world's citizen..
I had a chance to take some photos of him, at the end of 2006, when he visited our multiplex (BTW the best cinema in Russia in 2006) during his visit to Voronezh.
Those were the days of centenary of Dmitry Shostakovich.
My friend and boss - Mikhail (if it is interesting, we have made together with him a site about his father - composer and conductor Mikhail Nosyrev - http://www,nosyrev.com - a man of very hard life) decided to revive one of Shostakovich projects - music to the film.
So, we invited a philharmonic orchestra. They we playing during the film (like ballroom pianist). I will return to these photos later and of course post them here...
So Mstislav with pleasure agreed to come to our multipex 'SPARTAK'.
After the film, he had a talk with spectators - very interesting, funny...
Genius person!
So many stories!
Spasibo for you interest - some other photos - at my site, reportage pages...
Yuri
I was lucky enough to hear him play several times over the years. You were fortunate indeed to have met him. He will be missed by music lovers all over the world.
Regards,
