Hi All,

After reading some of the posts re B&W here I decided to try the Greg Gorman method (thanks Pathfinder), however I am stuck :dunno

I got to step 24 but then got lost. I am using CS3 so maybe the steps are different?

24. DOUBLE CLICK THE NEW LAYER TO BRING UP LAYER PROPERTIES

25. BRING THE BLACK POINT ARROW IN TO 70. NEXT OPTION CLICK THE BLACK POINT ARROW TO SPLIT THEM,
PULLING ONE HALF OF THE ARROW BACK TO 50

26. BRING THE WHITE POINT ARROW IN TO 185. NEXT OPTION CLICK THE WHITE POINT ARROW TO SPLIT THEM,
PULLING ONE HALF OF THE ARROW BACK TO 205. CLICK OK

27. IF NECESSARY THE OPACITY MAY BE VARIED TO REACH YOUR DESIRED ADJUSTMENT

When I double click the layer to bring up the properties there is nothing, that I can see, about black point or white point?

I also have a few questions on the colour selection and curves layer but I'll play around a little more first.

Can someone please let me know where to find the black and white point for a layer.

Cheers,
W00DY

    Woody,
He's talking about BlendIf sliders at the bottom of the dialog.
    Alt/Option-Click spilts them.

    Here you go, Woody.

In the highlighted part, see how the sliders are split? That's what he's talking about.

Oh and if you are interested their is an action created over at www.atncentral.com on Greg's BW conversion. If you are live me though I like to do it myself than mess with actions.

I don't see this posted yet on this thread, but cerement has a nice "translation" of the Gorman method.

I can't comment on the accuracy of everything vs the original instructions, but it helped me figure out the answer to your question when I was trying to follow the original instructions.
