Strange creature spotted in the woods behind my house today

is it just me, or does that knot look like an eye?

anyway, had to stand there for 20 minutes waiting for a cloud patch to cover the sun to smooth things out in the background. wink.gif

it never moved during that time, so I don't think it was alive. greensupergrin.gif

    wow, we don't have creatures like this around the house ne_nau.gif I bet it escaped a zoo, you should call animal control .....:D

    Wow! I had no idea those walking sticks ( Carausius morosus ) got that big! We'll see that image again somewhere... Smithsonian? National Geographic? National Enquirer?
