First time maternity shoot......
I was contacted today for a maternity shoot. Being I have never done this before or thought that I would ever do one, I accepted. She's one of my wife's ex coworkers. She said she wanted them done now cause she's due in 2 weeks.
I did some on black B/G and my first time shooting white on white. I realized today that white on white is a whole lot harder than it looks.
Here's a few samples, please don't be too harsh this is my first pregnancy shoot.

To recap regarding this type of photography. Surprisingly I didn't feel as awkward as I thought it would be. She was a great subject and she felt comfortable in front of the camera. Her boyfriend was a different issue, I had to bribe him before he even agreed to take the above shots.

#1 and #2 get a puzzled star because I had to count the number of hands there
last 2, I have to be honest with you are not the best poses. Well at least they do not work for me. #4 because of the angle and back line, #5 because it distances her from the womb.

#4 is a very awkward pose, to me....
#5 is very pretty, but I don't like how disengaged she is....
#3 is gorgeous! I'm sorry you didn't find the right bribe for the dad, though, to get him into more shots!!!

loved #3-
like andi, 4 and 5 seem awkward-

Three is a fantastic portrait. The skin is a tad overcooked compared to the eyes but that's definitely part of the genre. And your method looks good here, have you been practicing?
Really nice set, i'm sure she's going to be thrilled!

Funny you mention that, out of the hour session that we had I must have spent 20 minutes total telling her to sit up straight.
But under the situation, I think it was a little tough for her.
Hi Lynn, I was going for an artsy fartsy shot on that one, although a 5th hand would have been a great idea.
