Black shouldered kite

This guy lives and hunts in a field around one kilometre away from where I live. He's only around 35 cm tall (around 14 inches). I've shot him a number of times. He lets me get to within 10 metres - not shy at all. Here are some shots I've taken over the past fortnight:

    What a great series. I love that last one. Kites make such beautiful subjects. I have to travel some 6-9 hours to get pics of kites.

    Thanks guys. I've watched him catch a field mouse. It was a pretty grey day, so I didn't get any decent shots. I'm lucky that he's not that shy - there's a nest in the try where he lives, so hopefully I might get some nice nesting photos this spring.
