great blue herons

Inspired by a recent post by Harryb, I went yesterday to try and get some great blue heron pictures at Kiwanis Ravine nesting colony. I could see 4 nests, but I can't afford the sort of glass required to photograph anything in those nests. :cry

Today my photography course met up today at the Woodland Park Zoo. It turned out to be a beautiful day for zoo photography, but the highlight for me was when a great blue heron flew out of the sky and landed on a rock in the middle of the penguin exhibit.

So does it count as wildlife photography if the animal is not part of any zoo exhibit but you just happen to be photographed at the zoo?

That sure does count as a wildlife shot. I love the second shot, nice work. thumb.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
