These are examples of how light can change from one minute to the next. They are taken the same night at the Fairhope Municipal Pier in Alabama. The restaurant on the pier just opened after it had sustained damaged from hurricane Ivan and Katrina. All shots were taken with a Nikon D50,18-200 mm VR, polorizer filter, handheld except last shot and processed with DxO to bring out dark areas and correct camera and lens faults.

In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary. ~Aaron Rose
I particularly like the last four shots after the sun has just gone done. Beautiful colors, you're lucky to have a location like that so close.

It is my favorite place to shoot. I shoot it about 3-4 times a month and there is always something different, whether it be sun, people, wildlife, clouds, or colors. I want to make a book on just this pier and location.
Jon... GREAT shots.... I know that pier pretty well myself and love to shoot there... I haven't been down there since they reopened the restaurant, but was down at the duck pond a couple of weeks ago.
I love your pictures.. you have some beautiful shots... great balance between the light in the sky and the lights on the pier...
Here's one I took that's one of my favs...
