Here are a few I liked from this weekend. Taken at various locations. The weather was beautiful so I went out saturday and sunday.

Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher - these guys are fun to watch pick flys out of the air

Northern Flicker

White-Throated Sparrow

Peak-a-boo - Great Horned Owl (very heavy crop)

Mrs. Great Blue Heron greeting her hubby as he returns to the nest

And lastly this is what the GBH rookery looks like in IR

Excellent set Nick. Was the IR done with filters or on a modded camera?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Skippy. You know, you wish you were here and all of us wish we could go to Australia. We're never happy with what we've got rolleyes1.gif. Glad you liked the shots. Don't worry, you'll get to see tons of cool stuff on the trip.

So I work my butt off getting pictures of these tiny insect sized birds and you like the IR shot the best headscratch.gif? I've got an IR modded XT from Maxmax. It is really fun to use. I used a custom WB set off the grass so the only processing I did was a curves adjustment to add some contrast and some sharpening. The colors are straight out of the camera.

For what it matters I love the boid shots! thumb.gifD:ivarGreat detail; especially in the flicker and sparrow shots and I am still waiting on photographing my first owl.
