I assume this is the best place for this thread since it is the only forum on DG to post coverages. This was a one day journey through my own city :D
Can a mod move it to another forum if this place is inappropriate? Thanks.

Yesterday was Koninginnedag and we celebrated the birthday of the Queens mother although she is dead (the mother, not the Queen herself). Amsterdam was packed with 500,000 people and the city center was turned into one big garage sale party.
This was the sunniest Queens Day ever noted with a nice 22C degrees and a bright blue sky. I don't even have a hangover the next morning

1 Happy birthday.

3 No Queens Day series without the Wester Tower in a shot

8 To buy or not to buy... Or to walk around with a turn mill under your arm for the next 8 hours or not to...

9 I had the impression the violin player was stoned or autistic. Or probably both...

12 Too many people. The first time in many years that we made a U-turn in this street.

Wow, what a turnout. That's quite the public holiday.

    Thanks for the visit, Jeroen!

happy queensday to you jeroen! :D

It looks like you enjoyed yourself there. i celebrated queensday in Leiden, a little quieter but still nice. Unfortunatly i had my new 400D set to a aperature of 3.5 so almost all my shots are sooo soft.. :cry i'll see if i can post a few that worked. It's a strange celebration isnt it? but FUN! clap.gif
