Is that a cliff face...and did they burrow their nesting area out like that?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Yes Ric, It is a cliff face, Sandstone about 40 - 50 feet high and 100 yards long. There are many little caves in it burrowed out by swallows and other birds. The owls are squaters. They took over this larger hole last year for thier nesting and seem to like it better than the big cottonwoods they normally use around here.
Thanks Harry. IT is a tough shoot. I have taken about 900 frames of these guys over the past two seasons and still have not made a realy good image of them. In the day time the sun glares of of the cliff like a painted white wall. And owls being owls they prefer the dark so as you can imangine the challenges. I keep thinking "if I just had that 600mm f4"
Thanks Marina. Glad you like the Lil Hooters
