ANYTHING is faster than 6.0. I even went back to 5 until 7 came out!

There was a trick for 6.x

Which made it bearable (remove all plugins except three).
    But yeah, 6 sucked..

7 took a few seconds to load the very first time, but after that it was instantaneous, better even than 5 ..

7 also addresses a security flaw found in 6. Even more reason
    to update.

You will notice however that 7 puts something in your Windows startup file.

Wow...I just downloaded 7 and it FLIES! No more loading screen that takes so long you can memorize all the patent numbers.

    Zoom! Thanks for the headsup.

You should try xpdf. Doesn't work well with everything but most docs take
less than a few seconds to load.

Should be a version you can run on the mac for comparisons sake.

Is that great shot of Adobe Towers version 6 or 7? Seems to load pretty fast, so I suspect it's the latter. mwink.gif

    Answered my own question:

Installed 7.0 Pro yesterday. Nice and fast opening PDFs over the web. I haven't tried making any big PDFs yet so it remains to be seen if the creation process got faster as well.

Interesting that Acrobat Standard & Pro now have to be activated in a similar fashion to PS CS.
