order/position difficulty

I've been updating my galleries today, and one of them

is refusing to keep the pics in the proper order. I've not had this difficulty before, so I'm not sure what's going on?

I want this gallery in descending position, and I've rearranged them back into correct position twice now. But if I leave the gallery and come back to it, they're all scrambled again.

Have I done something to cause this? Please help!

Well...that's not the order I put them in. I'll just try it again...
