I have a tough time pleasing myself, but feel I need to give these a chance only because I got up at stupid-o'clock-in-the-morning to take them.:huh:cry I'd appreciate any thoughts or opinions on these very much.

I was thinking #3, compositionwise. But I called hubby over and he says..."personally? I like the middle one. The lone ship there." I pointed out that there is a lone ship in #3, but he said he doesn't like the bright spot in it, that it draws his eye away. So: so far you have two votes for #2, one for #3:)
I think it was worth it getting up early, nice shots :photo
I'm reminded of Forrest Gump's saying "Stupid is, as Stupid does..."
For us landlocked gals and guys, these gorgeous shots please our eye while taking us to times and places which are not at all in our usual paths.
I like #1 because of the subtle lighting - did the guy get anything?
#2 sorta centers the ship - our digital judges give us wrath for such shots
#3 could incur our digital judges wrath because, although the ship is at the 3rd point, it does not have any headroom - that is, it is about to ram the edge of the pic. Yet, having said that, it's silhouette certainly counterbalances the morning sun's reflection.
Did you blow out the highlights? Would a highlight recovery clearly strengthen this pic?
I choose 3... {hopefully with mods}

Great image!
Maybe less water, though...
I also fear the wrath of submitting centred shots, though #2 is one third down, it still seems middly. And I blew the headlights on #3 like Paris Hilton blew over the limit. I should do some jail time for that.
Maybe a crop on #1 ? I also lightened up the shadows. I don't think he caught anything. The fisherman seemed pretty hyper to me, he couldn't stand still for more than a few seconds, which probably isn't a very good trait for success. It also made it very annoying to me, trying to line him up. And what's worse, on the way there, the Tim Horton's at the gas station wasn't open yet, though the coffee guy was there. I walked into the gas station and the gas guy said, "You're going to be waiting a long time to get a coffee." So I walked back out to my car, looked back at the station, and saw the gas guy lifting up a Tim's coffee cup, saluting the coffee guy in his success at turning me away quickly. Small victory for him.
But you know what, that huge concrete thingie with the light on top is a huge distraction. Maybe clone it off completly?
I like it a whole lot better!
I'd say, a little cleanup in the cloned area - and you're golden!
Also, I'd consider a little crop from the left, where the slope is, just let the rail start from the flat...
Ooh, ooh, ooh! Now I'm going crazy!
Kewl!
Composite? Looks great anyway. I am only not sure if it has enough "silhouette" for the challenge... The fisherman sure has...
I was feeling a bit goofy for a while today, after staring at the sun through a telephoto lens I could only walk in circles. Surprisingly I managed to rototill our back yard without injury.
Now, thats more like it!
ONLY the front edge is distracting, perhaps too sharp...

Are you sure that insect in your refigerator did not create your "RotoTill Moment?"
