Walk in the woods (and some help?)

Got to take a walk today out at my parent's place. I've been meaning to get out and go for quite awhile now, however, just seems like I never get around to it :wxwax

I think this one is too dark. But I liked the sunshine coming through in this one.

It seems anymore that when I take a picture, it always seems best in black and white.

My favorite from all of them

Now, here's where I need some help. I'm not even sure if this one is salvageable. Is this one worth even trying to fix? I like the perspective of this one and I like the ice from the waterfall there, but I'm not sure it's a good composition either. Can anyone give me some pointers on fixing this? :dunno

Thanks for looking

i think you've made a good start - but you need some winter photography tips, search on same here and you'll find a few threads on it. mainly, you want to learn to overexpose in the swow b/c the meter gets tricked and you get u.e. shots :D

thanks for sharing and i hope you do it more.

    Cmaster,

Shooting in snow is tough :uhoh Not only isn't there much color, as Andy points out, the meter gets fooled by the brightness.

Looks like you have some decent scenery to shoot. A perfect practice ground thumb.gif

I liked the barb shot, but I think it would hve been more effective if there wasn't something dark in the BG behind it. IMO, it would look better isolated against a light background.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing and Spring is on the way clap.gif

You could try adding some fill-flash in photoshop to that first one...or play around with the levels a little. It's definitely neat picture.

I really like the angle you've captured with the waterfall one. I think lightening it a little might be helpful. Just my .02.
