    WOW David! Nice shot, love them big eyes!!! They're nasty blood suckers, but such interesting subjects. It almost looks like a creature from one of those "giant" bugs movies rolleyes1.gif

    Indeed it is a crane fly and not a mosquito. Apologies for the small typo there.eek7.gif

    I did zoom in on the original and looked at the small red thing. It does look like something akin to a small mite. I guess I should have used the 4x or 5x to get a bit closer.
