Managed to get a decent capture of a Gold Finch Saturday.
Usually it's the wrong pose.....plumage is midst change or something.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

A very clean shot --I would take about 1/2 of the space on the right out now that I have said that you will have more folks telling you how good the space to the right is rolleyes1.gif

There will be many more bird shots....hoping to get a fair share of Warblers.
The House Wrens haven't started nesting just yet but hope for those nest building shots soon.

Still within the rule of 3rd's :D
Hows this?
Not too grainy is it?
Cropped....ran noise on it then used selective sharpen tool on the bird itself.
Not as sharp as his but his was probably a closer shot than mine.

That's the trouble with little birds. Good detail and sharpness...too far away for good viewing. Good size for viewing...soft and less detail!! I think that's what they call a "Catch 22". Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I think both of your variations are fine. I guess I would prefer the second one though.

Once I can get a 30D and get my pixel count to 8mp rather than my current 6mp.....crops will be much sharper.
Guess it's gonna be awhile! <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/rolleyes1.gif" border="0" alt="" > << Sigh >>

Each version of your shot has its own appeal, but I'm partial to the second one. I do thing, though, you got a very good shot. thumb.gif

No doubt...it will make a difference.nod.gif

I have 16 1/2 megapixels...a 20D and a 30D...rolleyes1.gif

Still find it hard to get them little guys.:bash

You know you can still buy brand new 20Ds....not that big of a dif to the 30D.
