What is this?

I was just at the Rolex Equestrian Event in Lexington, KY and saw this guy shooting with this unit. I didn't get a chance to talk to him, do any of you more learned photographers know how this thing works?

    Resolution is too small - but looks as 2 Nikons with exactly 2 same lenses,
    probably one digital and one analog.
    Or maybe guy is playing with stereo vision ?

    Agreed. I've seen the same kind of rig for smaller P&S cameras & talked to the guy about it. That guy had them linked via a twinned remote, IIRC.
