A new DGrinner

My kayaking partner just this week joined the digital photo club. We were boating yesterday and had to paddle a 300 foot concrete tunnel to access a smaller lake. I told Barry to try a couple of shots just before he came out the end of the tunnel. I'm submitting this for him as he's not much of an internet person, yet! This is one of his first shots off his new Fugi FinePix E550. I cropped the top as there were some houses in that part of the photo and it spoiled the look. Hope you like it. :thumb

I like the shot. It's different from what you see all of the time. Nice color and tone, simple composition. It's a nice start.
Evenin' Waxy.
Although I don't contribute much, I sure enjoy checking out all the shots that folks submit. I'm about two months away from purchasing a new camera as I have nearly wore out my Sony. Frankly, I'm amazed that it has held up because as you well know, I've brutalized this camera for the last three years. I was in Asheville this afternoon and the lighting was ideal for some nice urban shots but it really wasn't worth taking without a better shooter. Thanks all for the shots and comments, I've been paying attention and this place has caused me to try and elevate my game a bit. Don't want to get as serious as you but just try to think about the way I compose things.
I'm submitting another of Barry's photos of me "under way". I really like the fact that I'm "half lit" but would be interested to see what others would do to adjust this shot.
I took this one of my paddle resting on the ice. I like it's simplicity.
