I find it interesting after looking at the photos to see the intensity that 4 and 5 year old girls have when playing just for "fun"

Great expressions. I really like the one before "the shot" - she looks really determined to get the ball! I like the shallow depth of field. I have not had much luck with this yet. I have been concentrating on getting tight action shots and getting the the right exposure. I will work on the DOF at next weekends game. Thanks, you got a lot of nice action in your shots. I'm sure that will happen on mine when they get a little older:D

As for DOF, what lens are you using?

I'm using a 70-200/2.8L @2.8. I think this lens would be a little short though for shooting soccer at the ages in you pics.

these are cute. My boys are 11 and 13 now and don't look so cute when they're playing. And you're right, the girls really do look like they are intensely interested in the game (what, that must have lasted about 5 min:D )

I also like the shot just before "the shot".
