One of my photos won't upload (but the rest will)

I've been experiencing a strange problem. One of my photos won't upload. I've tried the drag-and-drop method and the browse-for-files method, and both times I get an Upload Error saying "I'm sorry, but you can only upload JPEGs, GIFs, PNGs and MPGs."

The thing is, this one particular file is a JPEG. Just like all the other JPEGs that I did manage to upload OK. What's even stranger is that I deleted the JPEG on my hard disk, and re-created it from the RAW conversion; and it failed again.

Any ideas or suggestions?

The gallery to which I'm trying to uplload is here: http://stewartr.smugmug.com/gallery/2837618.

Obviously I can't show you the photo! ButI can tell you that it's called SR-D02142 conv.JPG, it's a 2304x3456 high-quality JPEG created in Photoshop Elements 5, and it contans 8,926,036 bytes. (Interestingly it's larger in bytes - though the same number of pixels - as all the other 35 photos that did upload successfully. I wonder if that's relevant?)

Thanks for your help.

If you're a standard or power user, then it needs to be under 8mb

Yes, I believe that DavidTO is correct and that that is the problem of the whole thing.

The 'not a jpg' message is a very standard message that just means that the photo that you are trying to upload does not meet our requirements.

OK. I hadn't realised that, but it's no problem to save the JPEG with a slightly lower quality. Thanks for such a quick response!
