I've been shooting a ton lately, but due to graduation (wooohooo!), moving to Upsate NY, and trying to navigate the real estate process:rolleyes my sorting/editing/posting has fallen by the wayside.
A few from the local woods, er swamp:D
Beavers are ugly little suckers!
Check out these chompers
Cute little dude Nick spotted before I managed to scare it off:D
Aside from the distance and upward shooting angle, our little rookery is working well.
The chicks have hatched and are out in force. Cute as they may be, they are fighting for their lives in the nest and appear to be wailing on each other at regular intervals. My trail guide Nick tells me they'll be ejecting the weakest one from the nest soon...if not already:huh
My geeky hip waders have allowed me to get past the skeeters and closer to the RWBBs. They have taught me a ton about the new 300--the depth of field at 2.8 can be really shallow! Focus on the wing and say goodbye to having the eyes in focus even though they are just a few cm apart.
Another one gets away:dunno
I forgot to have Nick ID these for me and I'm boycotting most books for at least a month:rofl
:dgrin Again notice wing vs. eye focus lesson:dunno Something to work on...I post it now to chart my progress later:D
And a few of the *local* Brookfield Mexican Wolves
I was in LA for the past five days and managed to shoot for about 30 minutes. With all the family in tow and graduation activities going on I could only convince my wife to stop the rental car for a few mintues on the way to Pasadena:cry I was really looking forward to meeting up with my Westie buddies as they are great guys and a ton of fun to shoot with:thumb I'll catch you next time guys!
Thanks for hanging in for the entire long post! Hope you liked em!!

Thanks Ric! I'm sure Nick has a few shots of him without the grass blocking the left eye

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
"Natura artis magistra"
Well that's why the Tern got Halo's :lol
Dig the wolf
So you gonna specialize ??

Thanks Ben and congrats on that new lens! Maybe you can show me how to use mine
The weekend was jam packed...I literally got to see the new Bolsa for about 30 mins. I was really bummed I missed you guys...until the halo comment
The tern has halos cause I didnt stop to say hey...and because its a heavy crop of an underexposed shot:D
I will be specializing -- starting my emergency medicine residency this June in NY, but I hope to get back to Bolsa to shoot sometime soon!
