After listening to hundreds of complaints concerning mail-in rebates, Canon replied by offering INSTANT REBATES.

    Good news
: Today the rebates are official.

Bad news: B&H jacked up the prices of their lenses today making the rebates useless.

EDIT: Okay, I guess they got too much heat from some customers because the prices went back to normal.

Additionally, the *psmay07* pricelist is still better on many lenses than with the rebate.

Okay, seems that B&H royally screwed up in the beginning and now they got some sweet specials going on. All lenses qualifying for rebates have the prices reduced accordingly in their already low *psmay* specials.

    70-200 2.8 IS ---- $1,499.95
    17-55 2.8 IS ---- $874.95
    85 1.2 II ---- $1,589.95

Well, that's it. All the many posters on this board wanting the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 USM IS should snap it up at that price.

The average price paid for that lens on FredMiranda.com is $1082.95. I was happy to get it at $925. With the rebate bringing it down to $875, it's such a steal, why would you even buy used.
