Query letters: USPS or e-mail?

I was thumbing through Photographer's Market and I want to market myself to some of the magazines and publications.

I have a website that would show my work and writing samples.

Are most editors open to getting an email with some links?
I noticed that some entries said e-mail only, but others just say to send a query letter with some ideas.

Should I get the stamps out or would I do good to send them an e-mail?

I have been researching this as well

From what I read so far it seems that getting out the stamps would be a good idea. At least for the query letter...and then you might as well include some examples. Although the book does say some accept digtal submissions...it seems they want to be sent a query letter with (SASE) self adressed stamped envelope...

This is how I am gonna attempt it anyway.
